The British Chess Variants Society was formed in 1997 by contributors and subscribers to the magazine Variant Chess, which was begun in January 1990 and is now published by the Society. The most recent issue of the magazine is VC57, nominally published May 2008 but was received at UK addresses in April 2008.

David's Encyclopedia. Update 3 April 2007 The second edition is now available from Chess Direct, P O Box 18, Mexborough, South Yorks S64 9AR or logon to Chess Direct   Price £15.99 plus postage and packing.

VC57 is now available - UK members should have received their copy by April 10 2008. Overseas subscribers possibly a day or so later.
Note that the email address given for the Treasurer in VC54 has changed - he has moved to @virgin.net and is now peter.fayers, and NOT "fayers@freeuk.com".
The publication date for the next issue (VC58) is Autumn 2008, and any material which contributors would like to be included in this should reach the editor (John Beasley) by 1st August 2008.

Circular Chess The Circular Chess World Championship 2008 will be held in the Tap and Spile in Hungate, Lincoln, on Sunday 1st June 2008. Entry forms are available both from the Tpa and Spile or from 11 North Parade, Lincoln, LN1 1LB and should be returned (with an entry fee of £10) by 14 May 2008. The Lincoln Circular Chess Society will be organising this event and full details should eventually be available from their website Circular Chess at Lincoln
